Watchlist in MyMarkets: Keep track of your key securities
In this article, we take a look at the MyMarkets watchlist. We explain how to add the module to your dashboard, configure it individually and link it to other modules.
1. What is a watchlist?
A watchlist is a personal monitoring list for securities.
It summarizes selected securities – for example shares, indices or funds – in a table and displays current key figures such as price, daily change and market capitalization.
This gives you a comprehensive overview of the key information regarding your favorites.
2. Adding the watchlist to your dashboard
To add the watchlist to your dashboard:
- Click on “Account” in the top navigation bar.
- Then select “Watchlist”.
Afterwards, you can either open an existing list or create a new one.
3. Managing and customizing the watchlist
3.1 Adding and removing securities
Add security:
Either use the “Symbol” search bar at the top left or click on “+ Symbol” at the end of the list. You can then search for the desired securities by name, WKN or ISIN and select your preferred exchange.
Remove security:
Open the quick actions menu of the respective security via the three-dot icon at the left end of a row and select “Delete”.
3.2 Switching and managing watchlists
In the “Watchlist” drop-down menu, you can:
- switch between several lists.
- rename.
- copy.
- or delete a list permanently.
Use the “+ New Watchlist” button to create additional lists – such as for different strategies or markets.
3.3 Manage views
The view determines which information, and key figures appear in the list’s columns.
Select another view:
Open the “View” drop-down menu and select a predefined view, e.g. “Fundamental” or “Intraday”.
- Create a customized view:
Click on the menu icon (three horizontal lines) at the top left of the module and select “Column configuration”. - Click on “New”.
- Configure the table by dragging the desired key figures into the visible columns.
Detailed instructions can be found in our separate tutorial about views.
3.4 Sorting
Deactivate the “Autosort” toggle to retain manual sorting. The securities can be moved to a new location using the icon to the left of the name.
Activate the “Autosort” toggle and click on the header of a column to sort the list according to that criterion. The order automatically adjusts to the latest market data.
3.5 Creating and editing groups
Add an instrument to a group:
- Open the quick actions via the three-dot icon next to an instrument.
- Select “Move to Group”.
- Either create a new group or add the item to an existing group.
Remove instrument from group:
- Again, open the quick actions of that instrument.
- Select “Remove from Group”
For a better overview, groups can be expanded and collapsed by clicking on the arrow next to the group name.
4. Linking with other modules
The watchlist module can be seamlessly connected to other MyMarkets modules via the link mode.
Receive instruments:
Select a security in a linked module (e.g. the stock screener module) to automatically add it to the currently opened watchlist.
Send instruments:
Click on a security within the watchlist to open it in a linked module (e.g. the chart module).
You can find detailed step-by-step instructions on how to link modules in our separate link mode tutorial.
